Hot Cottage 40th Anniversary

I gotta say, the Newcastle Pub is slowly but surely becoming a venue of choice for some big shows, and tonight is no different. The legendary Hot Cottage is celebrating 40 years of music tonight with their big anniversary bash. They will be joined by Big Hank and a Fist Full of Blues to mark the occasion. I believe this show is nearly sold out, so you may want to come down early if you don't have your tickets. This has 'Party of the Year' written all over it...not one you want to miss. Of course there will be lots of people in recovery mode for 'Church' on Sunday as well, so if we don't see you tonight, we may see you at the Sunday Soul Service...Cheers, everyone!!

Hey, Everybody...don't forget that, tonight, the Newcastle Pub is proud to host a fundraiser for the Heart of the City Festival. This should be a great night of music featuring Paula Perro and her band, No Foolin'. They have special guests 100 Mile House opening the show as well, so come on down for some fun and awesome music in support of a great cause!!

The Last Week...

Haven't posted for a while...better get at it. Saturday night at the Newcastle was magic for me. I was fortunate enough to do sound for Bruce Conte, and was able to have a really nice conversation with him. A very gifted guitar player, Bruce also proved to be the consummate gentleman, stopping to talk with everyone who approached him. I was duly impressed, and the band sounded awesome. Kudos to Randy Forsburg, Sean Grieve, Albert Joey DiMarco, and Lynn Chwyl who added her stunning vocals to a few tunes in each set. Well done, you guys...

This Saturday is the Heart of the City fundraiser at the Newcastle, with the incredible local band No Foolin'. They are joined by special guests 100 Mile House. The guest list is filling fast, so if you want to enjoy an awesome night of music in support of a great cause, make up your mind soon. I will be there once again in the sound man position...hunched over the board with a front row seat.

Lots more coming up, including the 40th anniversary of one of Edmontons' most beloved bands, Hot Cottage. They will be joined by special guests Big Hank and A Fistful of Blues, and I understand that a few surprises will dot the evening, as well...that will be Saturday, March 12, at the Newcastle Pub. Tickets are still available at the pub, but are moving quickly, so get yours before they are gone.
